DESCRIPTION

A ceramic soap dish with a pared-back, simple form inspired by Scandinavian and Japanese design principles.

Using a gently flecked stoneware clay, each soap dish is hand-thrown on the potter’s wheel by Florence in her Bristol pottery studio, and features a raised, hand-turned foot-ring and a small hole for drainage. The dish is finished with a maker’s stamp on the base.

The dish is glazed in Florence's seafoam glaze, a complex pale blue-green glaze with iron speckles showing through from the clay below.

As an alternative to a soap dish, this could also be used as a trinket dish in the bedroom or bathroom.
