A ceramic candle holder for a standard dinner size candle, handmade in Sheffield by Pottery West. 

Thrown on the potter’s wheel in an iron-rich flecked stoneware, the candle holder is stamped on the base with Pottery West’s maker’s mark.  

A pared back yet beautiful object for the home, this candle holder would also make a thoughtful gift for anyone who appreciates handmade, minimalist ceramics.

Glazed in Ochre, a glaze named after one of its ingredients - iron ochre. Colours can vary from a warm caramel brown, orange, even a little purple when applied thickly. This is a glossy glaze but the rutile within creates a more semi-matte appearance in certain lights.

From their Sheffield city centre studio, Catherine and Matt West design and make by hand their range of beautiful, functional ceramic tableware. Together with their small team, they use traditional methods of making, creating forms by hand on the wheel and with minimal tools, with glazes mixed from oxides and raw materials.
