Ideal for your porridge, cereal, soup or ice cream, this beautifully proportioned bowl is a pleasure to hold and use.

Handmade in Sheffield by Pottery West, the bowl is thrown on the potter’s wheel in an iron-rich flecked stoneware clay, and finished in their Charcoal glaze.

Stamped with a Pottery West maker’s mark on the base. 

Black but only at first glance, Charcoal is a semi-matte, complex and varied glaze of black, green, grey and occasionally brown tones that give it a character and handmade warmth.

For fans of minimalist and well-made ceramic tableware and kitchenware, this bowl would also make a lovely breakfast set when paired with a Tall Mug from Pottery West.

From their Sheffield city centre studio, Catherine and Matt West design and make by hand their range of beautiful, functional ceramic tableware. Together with their small team, they use traditional methods of making, creating forms by hand on the wheel and with minimal tools, with glazes mixed from oxides and raw materials.
