A very special vase featuring a hand painted bird, foliage and little stars, in wintery tones of blue, lavender and plum. 

Handmade in Edinburgh by ceramicist Celia Wood. 

Fill the vase with flowers, grasses, foliage, or simply display it as a piece of ceramic art on its own or within a collection.

How it's made: Celia Wood uses a slab-building technique, assembling sheets of clay to create a flat front and back. 

Made from white earthenware, hand painted with a colourful underglaze, and finished with a transparent glaze for a glossy effect that catches the light.

The design: Both faces of the vase feature a hand-painted flying bird, surrounded by little stars, all hand-painted in Celia’s signature expressive style. The side panels are finished with a simple foliage design.

Signed on the base by the artist.

About Celia Wood 
Ceramicist and illustrator Celia makes whimsical, hand-built ceramic pieces from her studio in Edinburgh. She decorates each piece by hand using her signature expressive, narrative line work. Celia’s work has been recently featured in World of Interiors and Architectural Digest, amongst others.
