DESCRIPTION

Display large arrangements of flowers, foliage or grasses in this ceramic vase with an elegantly rounded shape.

Made by Florence in her Bristol studio, the vase is glazed in celadon, a timeless pale blue-green glossy glaze which shows subtle crackling on close inspection. Iron speckles, and some patches of toasty brown clay where the glaze has travelled a little more thinly across the surface tell a story of the reaction between the clay and the atmosphere of the kiln.

The vase is hand-turned on the potter's wheel to create an elegant rounded shape ideal for displaying flowers. Subtle lines around the vase tell the story of the turning process on the wheel.

About Florence Ceramics
Florence is a ceramic artist making contemporary, considered tableware for daily life. She creates pottery for private clients, restaurants and a small number of shops, with every item thrown, fired and glazed entirely by hand in her Bristol Studio. Simple but not simplistic, her pottery is intended to be both beautiful and useful.
