Where it's made: Made in Edinburgh, Scotland

How it's made: Celia Wood builds the shape of the egg cup by hand, using a lightly sanded white earthenware clay. She decorates the clay with hand-painted underglazes, finished in a transparent gloss glaze. 

Dimensions: Approximately 5.3cm across and 6cm tall.

This is a handmade piece made in Celia's signature "wobbly" and expressive style. There are little lumps and crackles within the clay, and small variations in size, shape and painted pattern between each piece, making each a unique and handcrafted piece of tableware.

Ceramicist and illustrator Celia makes whimsical, hand-built ceramic pieces from her studio in Edinburgh. She decorates each piece by hand using her signature expressive, narrative line work. Celia’s work has been recently featured in World of Interiors and Architectural Digest, amongst others.
