DESCRIPTION

Perfect for a bowl of pasta, this wide-rimmed ceramic bowl features a speckled basalt finish.

Working from her Bristol pottery studio, Florence hand throws these bowls on the potter's wheel before finely turning them. A slightly raised, turned foot ring helps give the bowl a lightness when held. 

Ideal for pasta but could also be used for lots of different meals throughout the day, from a generous portion of porridge in the morning through to a stew or risotto in the evening.

Crafted from durable, heavy basalt-flecked stoneware, and finished with a thinned out version of Florence’s signature off-white glaze, which makes a feature of the heavily speckled clay.

Florence glazes each bowl on the inside and leaves the outside raw, which creates a textural change and makes for a tactile piece of dinnerware.

How to look after your bowl:
Wash by hand with warm soapy water. If any staining occurs, due to - say - contact with turmeric or beetroot, the stain can be removed using bicarbonate of soda and warm water.

Florence is a ceramic artist making contemporary, considered tableware for daily life. She creates pottery for private clients, restaurants and a small number of shops, with every item thrown, fired and glazed entirely by hand in her Bristol Studio. Simple but not simplistic, her pottery is intended to be both beautiful and useful.
