POTTERY WEST Large Stoneware Serving Bowl with a Nori Glaze

A beautiful and refined serving bowl, hand made by Pottery West.

Crafted from a pale Cornish stoneware, this bowl is hand thrown on the potter’s wheel in Pottery West’s Sheffield studio, and stamped with their maker’s mark on the base.

The bowl has been glazed in ‘Nori’, a spectacular tapestry of blues, greens, and occasionally browns. It’s one of the earliest glazes Pottery West developed and also one of their most popular.

On the pale stoneware of this serving bowl, Nori is rich and crystalline, with vivid blue tones and a lovely glossy finish.

Functional yet elegant, this bowl could be used to serve any number of dishes at the dining table. Alternatively, use it in your home to display something beautiful from nature, such as fruit, dried grasses, or foliage.

  • Size: approximately 7cm h x 28cm ø / 2500ml
  • Made in England
  • Materials: pale Cornish stoneware clay, Nori glaze

Pottery West make each piece by hand. Because of the handmade nature of pottery, there may be slight variation in the dimensions specified in this listing and also subtle variation in the glaze between each piece.

How to care for and handle your bowl
Wash your ceramics by hand when you can as regular dishwasher use may shorten their lifespan. Avoid placing in extreme hot or cold environments such as an oven or a freezer, as this could cause thermal shock and result in fragility and cracking and/or breakage.
