STOFF STUDIOS Terracotta Scallop Shells Cushion

A generously proportioned cushion featuring a scallop shell design on terracotta coloured linen.

This beautifully crafted cushion has been hand printed and finished in Stoff Studios’ South London studio overlooking the Thames.

Inspired by the scallop shells used by pilgrims along the Camino de Santiago routes, the “Pilgrim” cushion features four shells on each side, screen printed by hand using opaque water-based pigments.

The pale pink shells are printed onto heavy weight European linen. The linen is a warm terracotta brown, that contrasts beautifully with the pale shells.

The cushion has hand frilled borders along each end in the same printed linen, and is finished with a discreet pale pink zip and a small Stoff label at the base.

It has a large square shape and comes with a substantial British wool cushion pad.

About Stoff Studios
Founded in 2015 by textile designer Carys Briggs, Stoff Studios use traditional methods to create refined, intimate collections of textiles and homewares inspired by gestural mark making and mono printing techniques. All of their pieces are produced in their riverside studio in Woolwich.  Often concentrating on either a single piece or a small batch of works, Stoff Studios produce objects with a tactile nature, designed to work together in the home to create plains of colour and texture.
