FLORENCE CERAMICS Stoneware Dimple Cup in Oatmeal Glaze

A ceramic cup with a pared-back and simple form, featuring a dimple in which to rest your thumb.

Inspired by Scandinavian and Japanese design principles, these handle-less cups have been thoughtfully designed to be comfortable to hold with either one hand or two, and are likely to become part of your daily morning ritual. They’d also make a good gift for anyone who loves to serve their coffee or tea in well-made pottery.

This cup would work well for a morning coffee, whether you prefer a cortado, small flat white or macchiato.

Alternatively, use it for a small serving of tea or hot chocolate.

How it's made
Working in her Bristol studio, Florence hand-throws each cup on the potter’s wheel from a durable, gently flecked stoneware clay.

The cups are finished in Florence's classic Oatmeal glaze, a slightly off-white neutral with tiny flecks of iron peeping through the glaze surface.

The bottom centimetre of the cup is left raw and then sanded smooth when fired, for a tactile contrast. The cup features a Florence Ceramics maker’s stamp on the underside.

Also available in Basalt Fleck glaze.
